Sporting Stars Academy is proud to have received the prestigious Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Schools Award (ATSSA).

This award acknowledges the Academy’s commitment to creating a supportive, nurturing environment for children and young people who have faced adversity, including those adopted from care, in local authority care, or from homes where their needs may not be adequately met.

The ATSSA framework guides Sporting Stars Academy in fostering an educational environment where students can heal, learn, and thrive. This means that all staff understand the needs of children impacted by trauma and are equipped with strategies and resources to support them effectively. By prioritising students’ emotional development and well-being, the Academy enhances both their academic success and mental and physical health.

Receiving the ATSSA not only recognises Sporting Stars Academy’s dedication to inclusivity and compassion but also assures students, families, staff, and the community that the school actively removes barriers to learning and participation. This award is a testament to the Academy’s role in championing ‘learning readiness’ through a culture of care and respect, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
