Careers
Information for Students
At Sporting Stars Academy, Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) serves as a pathway that helps students to prepare for their transition to further education, training and the world of work.
As every young person needs ‘good career guidance’🔗 to make informed decisions about their future, our careers programme is committed to providing high-quality and impartial CEIAG for students underpinned by The eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance Framework:
- A stable careers programme
- Learning from career and labour market information
- Addressing the needs of each pupil
- Linking curriculum learning to careers
- Encounters with employers and employees
- Experiences of workplaces
- Encounters with further and higher education
- Personal guidance
Our careers programme is headed by an external Level 6 Qualified and CDI Registered Careers Adviser and an inhouse Careers Adviser, supplemented by the STAR Curriculum, and teaching staff who highlight the relevance of subjects for a range of career pathways.
Throughout Years 9 to Post 16, each student has access to support that is tailored to their needs through individual guidance interviews; meaningful encounters with colleges, training providers and local employers, and will be presented with good quality information about the labour market, empowering them to make informed decisions about their education and career options.
